On March 29th, the 2019 South African International Student Welcome and Opening Ceremony was held in the Western Cultural Experience Room of 金沙乐娱. Jin Bingxiong, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Wang Fang, Vice President,attended the ceremony. The relevant leaders of the Department of International Education, Culiary Department, and 19 international students from South Africa attended the ceremony.

On the opening ceremony, Jin Bingxiong extended warm welcome to 19 international students from South Africa on behalf of the college. He encouraged everyone to pursue excellence in their study, learn to understand and tolerate in life, and try to embrace different cultures and actively become cultural exchanges ambassadors between China and South Africa. Professor He Hong, delivered a speech on behalf of faculty members, encouraged students to grasp the learning opportunities so as enrich their life abroad. International student representative Thabang Mokone expressed his gratitude to the college for the warm welcome, and expressed his deep love for the college, as well as Hangzhou.
